Mission and Outreach
LOCALLY AND GLOBALLY
One of our core values at Glenkirk is Create. Specifically, creating God’s kingdom on earth as we reach out to our local community through acts of service and Christian mission that are rooted in love for God and for others. God has uniquely gifted you and created you to serve others and to be a light of hope in our community. We would love to help you find the perfect opportunity to serve.
We strive to impact the lives of others with God’s love through local, national, and international efforts. We send missionaries and mission teams to Africa, the Middle East, South America, Central America, Native American reservations, Canada, Mexico, and more. These efforts are for the whole person in areas such as sharing the good news about Jesus and providing food, shelter, clothing, emotional support, counseling and medical care. We have trained counselors here locally who are equipped to meet with people seeking this emotional support, healing, guidance, and recovery.
WAYS TO HELP DURING COVID-19
School Supplies Drive for Chinle | Sunday Mornings | June 27 – July 18
Chinle is a Navajo reservation located in north-eastern Arizona that Glenkirk has served for several decades in hosting VBS, Bible studies, and outreaches. Since we will not be doing our annual mission trip to Chinle this year, we will be collecting new school supplies for the children of Chinle on Sundays from June 27-July 18. Below you will find the full list of school supplies:
We need help! Are you available to give 2-3 hours at any one of our 3 locations? With mandatory business closures, layoffs, and very little food on store shelves, people are depending on the services of Shepherd’s Pantry at an increasing rate. People need food.
Need for donations – While it is difficult for you to find food for you and your family, we are not asking for food donations at this time. We have been assured that we should have adequate food from Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. While the community is in this crisis mode, please DO NOT drop off clothing donations as we are closing that department temporarily. If you are able to provide financial support, this would be greatly appreciated since we are seeing an increase in our expenses related to transporting and packaging food. For more information on making a donation to Shepherd’s Pantry, please CLICK HERE.
If you have practical needs we can meet during this time, we are mobilizing our deacon ministry to this end. If you are need of assistance, please contact your deacon using your Glenkirk Church profile on Church Community Builder (CCB) or you can email us at email@example.com. Also, if you have specific prayer requests, you can submit them to this email address, and we will get them to our prayer team. We want to support you during this time in every way we can.
