We want to give you a sense of what to expect when you visit Glenkirk.
We know that visiting a new church can cause some anxiety. We want to do our best to take away any concerns you might have before you even arrive!
Choose A Service...
Modern Service at 5:30 p.m. Saturday in the Worship Center
An acoustic praise ensemble leads familiar contemporary songs, and inspired preaching gives shape to this casual Saturday evening service. Families are encouraged to worship together. There is childcare available up to age 3
Classic Service at 8:15 a.m. Sunday in the Worship Center
You will hear the familiar sounds of Glenkirk. The adult choir, ogranist and praise band lead the best of the cherished songs of our faith to the most loved worship songs of today. Inspired preaching will move you and encourage you as you draw closer to God.
Blended Service at 9:45 a.m. Sunday in the Worship Center
A praise band and adult choir lead traditional hymns and engaging praise songs. Inspired preaching is added to create a service that is majestic, moving, and meaningful.
Modern Service at 11:11 a.m. Sunday in the Worship Center
Energetic, experiential, and casual, this service is filled with modern worship, occasional interactive worship experiences and identical preaching. Elementary students are encouraged to worship in song with families and then will be dismissed to children’s programming prior to the sermon.
Come On Over...
Once you've selected which service to attend, come on over! The dress is casual. People wear what is comfortable to them. A few will have ties, but many will have shorts, jeans, or sandals. (For directions, please click Here) People usually arrive ten minutes ahead of the worship service in order to park, drop off kids if needed, grab a bulletin, and find a seat before the service begins. As you enter our parking lot, choose any parking spot you'd like. There are some guest parking spots available in the parking lot as you enter from Palopinto. There are greeters around the patio who will welcome you and can assist you if you have any questions.
The Service Itself...
Once inside our worship center, please find a seat wherever you will be comfortable. And please relax. We promise not to put you on the spot during your visit with us. However, do expect a few friendly people who may stop by to say "good morning" on their way in. Each service includes a number of songs with the lyrics shown on our projection screens in the front. If you feel like joining in, please do! If you'd rather not, please feel comfortable to simply listen. About halfway through the service someone (usually one of our pastors) will stand and teach from the Bible. These sermons are designed to dig into the Biblical text and make it relevant to our everyday lives. Communion (Eucharist/ Lord's Supper) is served after the sermon on the first Sunday of every month. Anybody who is seeking to follow Jesus Christ as their Savior is welcome to participate.
Children...
On Saturday night, we encourage children to worship with their family while we offer care for birth through age 2. On Sunday morning we offer a variety of programs throughout the morning for children and students of all ages. Middle School and High school students have groups that meet during the 9:45am service. Many of these students also attend the 11:11 worship service. We ask that you walk your younger children to their classrooms. All children 5th grade and younger need to be signed in and out. We encourage you to introduce yourself to the teacher, and ask any questions you may have about our Children's Program. For a more detailed description of our children's and student ministries, click here: Children, Middle School, High School, College
After the Service...
When the worship service is over, we invite you to join us on our sunny patio for coffee, hot chocolate, or lemonade. This gives us a chance to introduce ourselves to you and answer any questions you may have about our church or the worship service you've just experienced. Please feel free, as well, to contact us by phone or e-mail; or just stop by the Church Office to ask any other questions you may have about us.
