Sanctuary Choir

The Sanctuary Choir is part of the Glenkirk Worship and Arts Ministry and is composed of people who enjoy singing. The choir sings at the 8:15 and 9:45 a.m. Sunday morning services September through June and has one or two special events during the year..  Rehearsals are held on Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. in the Choir Room.  Sunday morning warm up is held at 7:30 a.m. in the Choir Room. All are welcome.  No auditions are required.

Chorale

This music ministry is designed for singers who desire to sing with more accomplishment and carry the Lord's most beautiful scriptures, and love, to those who simply can't get to church any more…(and to their caregivers who are often forgotten).  The goal is to skillfully prepare a small concert lasting about 30 minutes.  We will stroll the halls in the local assisted living facilities while singing four or five hymns and then five or six a cappella selections.  There may also be other opportunities to sing at special events  when asked.

Rehearsals are held when we are dismissed from the 8:15 a.m. worship service (8:45 a.m. prox.) in the Choir Room under the direction of Paul Gamber and accompanied by Marysia Wietrzynska.

Concerts are scheduled for the 3rd Sunday of each month at 11:30 a.m. at facilities to be determined.  We will return to the church by 12:30 p.m.

All are welcome.  You do not need to sing in the Sanctuary Choir in order to sing in the Chorale (but we hope you will).  No auditions are required.

Ensembles

If you would like a more challenging musical experience and would like to audition for ensembles under the direction of Paul Gamber, contact Clint Smith or Mary Van de Brake (626)914-4833.

These ensembles will offer their voices for weddings, funerals, private celebratory parties, worship service, holidays, etc.

Extra rehearsals will be created for the ensembles on an as-needed basis.  Blending will be the goal with these groups, and the size will be limited.

Bible Study

Choir Sunday Bible Study led by Carole Mathews is held in the Choir Room when the choir is dismissed from the 9:45 worship service (10:15 a.m. prox.).
