AFRICA

PCEA Tumutumu Partnership – Kenya

Glenkirk began sending a team annually to Kenya in 1999 in an effort to search out just where God was sending us as a congregation. A formal partnership was created between Presbyterian Church of East Africa Tumutumu Hospital in Karatina Kenya and Glenkirk Presbyterian Church in August 2002.

 

Mahiga Dispensary Maternity Wing

Glenkirk Presbyterian Church (PCUSA) in partnership with P.C.E.A. Tumutumu Hospital has agreed to participate in the construction and completion of a Maternity Wing at the P.C.E.A. Mahiga Health Centre, Othaya, Kenya.  This project is due to be completed in 2008. Financial gifts welcome.

 

Kiaruhiu Dispensary Maternity Wing

Glenkirk and an anonymous donor in partnership with the Kiaruhiu Dispensary and Tumutumu Hospital celebrated the completion of the maternity wing in January 2006. Young women living and having babies in this community can not afford $32.00 the cost to acquire a safe deliver at this maternity wing.  Financial donations will make it possible for these women to have access to the maternity resources provided at Kiaruhiu Dispensary.  Financial gifts welcome.

 

HIV/AIDS – PCEA Woman’s Guild – Education

Kenyan women visiting the Tumutumu, Kiaruhiu, and Othaya PCEA clinics are being educated about HIV/AIDS and how they can help to prevent future generations from being affected and infected with this virus.  Financial gifts welcome.

PCEA Tumutumu Hospital

Glenkirk sends a team each year to Tumutumu Hospital in Karatina, Kenya. People from all walks of life are invited to participate in this mission trip. To financially support or pray for the team please contact us.

 

Tumutumu School for Hearing Impaired Children

Sponsor a student at the Tumutumu School – $180 covers tuition for the full school year.

ARIZONA   

There are two trips annually to the Navajo Reservation in Chinle, Arizona.

 

July – This is a one week intergenerational mission team trip. They travel to present a one-week Vacation Bible School to the Navajo children and youth (pre-school through high school, as well as to provide a Women’s Bible Study, to complete work projects for Trinity Presbyterian Church, and to visit the elderly residents of the Chinle Nursing Home. December– This is a four day intergenerational mission team trip. They travel to give the Shepherd Tree Christmas gifts to the Navajo families as well as to the elderly residents of the Chinle Nursing Home. To financially support or pray for the team please contact us. 

  

CALIFORNIA

Living Christmas Market - (Campus Ministry)  Our annual Living Christmas Market is held on campus the first Sunday in November.  Your ability to purchase items throught the Living Christmas Market continues duirng the months of November and December.  Opportunities abound to bring the love of Christ to a hurting world through the purchase of gifts that bless children, meet cirisis needs, provide health and hope, transform comunities, and spread the Good News.  Financial gifts welcomed.

 

Shepherd Tree- November/December (Campus Ministry) Provide a Christmas gift of gifts to a Navajo child in Chinle, Arizona, as well as to an elderly resident of the Chinle Nursing Home.  Sign ups to provide a gift or gifts will begin at our annual Living Christmas Market onteh first Sunda in November.  All gifts purchased are collected through December 10th and then organized to be taken to Chinle the week before Christmas. 

 

Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child (Campus Ministry) Make a dramatic difference in the lives of children and families around the world by being part of this annual collection of shoe box gifts.  Empty shoe boxes will be handed out begining in early October, with filled shoe boxes being turned in during our Living Christmas Market the first Sunday in November.

 

ECUADOR

Hug, hold, care for and play with the special children of the orphanages of For His Children in Quito and Latacunga Ecuador. If working with children is not your gift there will be opportunities to assist with work projects on the For His Children facilities. INDIA

Participate in a mission trip to India that teams up with Glad Tidings India and India Bible Literature.  Witness how God is working in Church Planting, Bible Content Literacy Courses, Vacation Bible School, Christian Schools, and through self-help projects, and visit the India Bible Literature headquarters in Chennai.  To financially support or pray for the team please contact us.

 

UKRAINE

DONETSK - Participate in a summer mission trip to Ukraine to teach English to pastors, missionaries, church planters, teachers and other Christian works at Donetsk Christian University (DCU).  To financially support or pray for the team please contact us.  

 

Kiev - Music Mission Kiev Choir and Orchestra joint concert with the Glenkirk Sanctuary Choir on the weekend of September 20-22, 2008.  The MMK Choir will be singing in our worship services that weekend as well as participating in the joint concert.  For more information please contact us.

 

DISASTER ASSISTANCE

Provide physical as well as financial support when a national or international disaster strikes. A team, Disaster Assistance Relief Team, (DART) has been formed to coordinate our congregation’s response to national disasters. Financial gifts welcomed.   Click here for our current response.

 

MEDICAL BENEVOLENCE FOUNDATION

Medical Benevolence Foundation (MBF) Provides support for health related mission personnel, supplies and financial aid to hospitals, medical outposts and clinics outside the United States.  This support is generated for the medical mission work of the Presbyterian Church (USA).  

 

WOMEN OF GLOBAL ACTION

Women empowering women all over the world. These mission trips allow team members and international women to build meaningful relationships with each other. Work with other women to transform families, churches and communities. To financially support or pray for the team please contact us.
