Glenkirk Church

Community Assistance

Through our Deacon Financial Assistance Fund, the Shepherd’s Food Pantry, our Counseling Ministries and other support ministries, we are often able to provide assistance for short-term emergency needs. If we cannot help you directly, we have extensive referral services available and will be happy to assist you in that way.

Shepherd's Pantry/Canning Hunger

The Shepherd’s Pantry responds to emergency needs for food in the cities of Azusa, Baldwin Park, Claremont, Covina, Glendora, Hacienda Heights, La Puente, La Verne, San Dimas, Valinda, and West Covina. They are open every Wednesday and Thursdays from 5:00-7:00 p.m.  I.D. is required.  Canning Hunger is a ministry of Glenkirk Church that gives our congregation the opportunity to meet their neighbors through seeking donations for the Shepherd’s Pantry.

Homeless Ministry

Every January Glenkirk participates for two weeks with the East San Gabriel Valley Homeless Coalition to house the homeless in our facility. Over 700 volunteers from this church and the larger community provide breakfast and dinner, hot showers and toiletries, and medical assistance as well as housing for complete families.

Glenkirk Reaching Into Prisons

This ministry is dedicated to bringing the freedom of a relationship with Jesus Christ to those who have lost their freedom. A team of people from Glenkirk visit the Julius Klein Conservation Camp (Camp 19) in the Azusa Canyon weekly to provide bible study and chaplain services.

Lay Counseling

Glenkirk’s Lay Counselors receive training in biblical counseling as well as training from licensed therapists in a wide variety of clinical skills. Although they are supervised by licensed therapists, they are para-professionals and are not licensed. This service, which is open to the community, provides help with problems in living such as marriage and other relationships, grief, vocational problems, family difficulties, divorce, and many others. We are unable to accept clients under age 16. There is no cost for this service as it is supported by the Glenkirk budget.
