Through our Deacon Financial Assistance Fund, the Shepherd’s Food Pantry, our Counseling Ministries and other support ministries, we are often able to provide assistance for short-term emergency needs. If we cannot help you directly, we have extensive referral services available and will be happy to assist you in that way.

Shepherd’s Food Pantry/Canning Hunger
Outreach to Chinese-Speaking Senior Citizens
Glenkirk Reaching Into Prisons
This ministry seeks to honor God by educating people on the biblical principles of money management and training them in the practical application of these principles in their personal finances. This team sponsors two seminars a year as well as provides budget counselors for people in need. Open to the Glenkirk congregation as well as to neighbors in our community.
Shepherd's Pantry/Canning Hunger
The Shepherd’s Pantry responds to emergency needs for food in the cities of Glendora, San Dimas, La Verne, Azusa and Covina. They are open every Wednesday evening from 5:00-6:30 p.m. for walk-in service. Canning Hunger is a ministry of Glenkirk Church that gives our congregation the opportunity to meet their neighbors through seeking donations for the Shepherd’s Pantry.
Every January Glenkirk participates for two weeks with the East San Gabriel Valley Homeless Coalition to house the homeless in our facility. Over 700 volunteers from this church and the larger community provide breakfast and dinner, hot showers and toiletries, and medical assistance as well as housing for complete families.
This ministry is a service aimed at single Moms and Seniors to help them with simple household repairs.
Outreach to Chinese-Speaking Senior Citizens
This is an opportunity for seniors who speak Chinese to gather for fellowship and to learn some of the English language using a biblically-focused curriculum. These meetings will be held weekly on our campus. Check back for details of day and time.
Glenkirk’s Deacon Fund is sometimes able to provide short-term emergency relief for those in need. We are unable to provide cash, gas or motel vouchers. Processing requests for assistance takes a minimum of 10 days.
Glenkirk Reaching Into Prisons
This ministry is dedicated to bringing the freedom of a relationship with Jesus Christ to those who have lost their freedom. A team of people from Glenkirk visit the Julius Klein Conservation Camp (Camp 19) in the Azusa Canyon weekly to provide bible study and chaplain services.
Glenkirk’s Lay Counselors receive training in biblical counseling as well as training from licensed therapists in a wide variety of clinical skills. Although they are supervised by licensed therapists, they are para-professionals and are not licensed. This service, which is open to the community, provides help with problems in living such as marriage and other relationships, grief, vocational problems, family difficulties, divorce, and many others. We are unable to accept clients under age 16. There is no cost for this service as it is supported by the Glenkirk budget.
