Through 3 different service opportunities, children and families will be able to make a measurable impact in the communities around them during the month of February.

Weekend Programs

Families who attend our weekend programs will be supporting the Special Friends Program, a program designed to help students who struggle with social skills, self image, schoolwork and overall school adjustment.  By bringing in gently used toys, families at Glenkirk will be resourcing classrooms throughout the community to teach children a variety of skills through tactile learning and creative play.

Toys for the Special Friends Program can be dropped off in the Children's Ministry Wing during weekend services.

AWANA

Children who attend Glenkirk's AWANA program will be supporting our local Shepherd's Pantry during the month of February.  Children are encouraged to bring in canned goods and other non-perishables to be distributed to local families who need assistance.

Good News Clubs

The 300+ students involved in our three after school programs will be collecting gently worn shoes for an organization called Soles 4 Souls.  Each week, children will be encouraged to donate shoes that they have outgrown or no longer wear - these shoes will then be shipped to impoverished and developing regions of the world for distribution.
