Cargo of Dreams

Glenkirk Church and Cargo of Dreams have joined with Doxa Deo Church in Hartbeesport, South Africa to build a preschool and community center for an indigenous church in Majakaneng, South Africa. This involves the conversion of two 40' shipping containers. One container, pictured below that was donated by a church in Salem, Oregon, is already on the property. We will work on Glenkirk's container over the summer and hope to ship it in mid-September. The container will be fully functional when it is shipped and the recipients will provide the finishing touches once it arrives.

To obtain the construction materials and to ship the necessary preschool equipment and supplies, we are asking people to "adopt" Project Packages. These may consist of either in-kind or monetary donations to provide for the materials we need. Each package will contain a surcharge that will help pay for the shipping. The packages will vary from $10 to $100 and may be anything from donated lumber to institutional kinds of toys for preschool children. We will develop new Project Packages every week which will be available on the patio.
