Can parents visit club?

Parent passes are granted once per semester, and must be arranged with the Club director one week in advance.

How can I join the AWANA leadership team?

AWANA leaders at Glenkirk must be regular attenders of Glenkirk church and are required to attend a training class, as well as complete background screenings.

What happens in an Awana meeting?

Each of our children’s clubs has its own unique meeting format tailored to the needs of the age group each serves. Cubbies meet from 6:30-7:30pm, while our Sparks and Truth and Training (T&T) clubs meet from 6:30-8pm.  Meetings feature segments for games or other fun activities, small-group Bible learning and large-group Bible teaching, worship, announcements and awards.

Game Time is comprised of exciting circle games that are exclusive to Awana.  These games promote teamwork and enthusiasm, rather than athletic excellence.

Handbook Time provides small-group interaction and recitation of Scripture that kids learned during the week. It also features friendship building and opportunities for leaders to mentor children and help them understand the Bible verses they learn.

Large Group Time consists of praise and worship, Bible teaching, awards, announcements and a presentation of the gospel.

Who leads Awana programs?

Members and regular attenders of Glenkirk church have the opportunity to serve in a fulfilling ministry in our Awana program. Trained church volunteers oversee everything from the entire program to spiritually leading each child.
