On Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11 each person (high school and older) attending the worship services will receive a $10 bill provided by Glad Tidings India to begin and adventure called the Luke 19 Project. This project is based on the parable of the talents (Luke 19:10-28). The faithful servants in that parable were entrusted by the Master to multiply their money and return it. In this church-wide effort our congregation will be challenged to creatively use the seed money and return it doubled, tripled or even quadrupled. Suggestions for how to do that will be in the envelope with the $10 bill. There will be three months to multiply the money. Collection weekend is June 26 and 27.
The goal is to raise $31,700 to help bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the Dhor, an unreached people group in India by:
The Dhor people group exists in 900 villages and are the largest unreached people group in the area. Their villages have no roads, no modes of communication, no schools, or hospitals. The community lacks the basic essentials of life. The religion is primarily Hindu. The Dhor are employed in menial jobs, are mostly illiterate, live well below the poverty level in unhygienic conditions and frequently suffer from illness. Women are basically slaves and the younger ones are sexually exploited. Child labor is common. The Dhor believe in black magic and witchcraft, and worship idols and evil spirits.
Participants can begin praying now and asking God how to best mulitply the $10 seed money. As we work to multiply the money we will be able to see God work through us individuals as well as corporately as we seek to grow His Kingdom.
